the Endgame

I have CFS. Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, (aka CFIDS – Chronic Fatigue Immune Dysfunction Syndrome, or ME – Myalgic Encephalomyelitis). This blog offers some of my experiences living with, dealing with, and actively beating back CFS for 19+ years. My pain is in here, my struggles are in here, but more importantly, so are my successes. I was diagnosed in 1999, when I was a 19 year old sophomore at Syracuse University. I’m 38 today.

My impetus to write now, is that because of Anthony William, aka the “Medical Medium”, and his book, Medical Medium | Secrets Behind Chronic and Mystery Illness and How to Finally Heal, I’m starting to feel better than I have in years. I’m feeling stronger, with more energy and stamina, and even periphery issues are starting to die down. Depression, which would come and go, is finally on its way out for good. My health is actually beginning to stabilize! Anthony William challenged my beliefs about many illnesses, not just my own; and I have a new understanding of CFS, and of many other conditions that appear just as mysterious. I explain my unbridled enthusiasm for him in Why I’m obsessed with the Medical Medium. If you’re dealing with CFS or any kind of mystery or auto-immune illness, definitely check out the excerpted chapter, Epstein-Barr Virus, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and Fibromyalgia on Goop, or his website. I share my own personal successes to date in My Arsenal

This blog will chronicle the last legs of my journey out of CFS. The Endgame. I’ll be writing about applying what I learned through Anthony William, and any other CFS-related experiences, subjects or news events that pop up along the way. For the first time in many years, I’m excited about the prospect of getting better and staying that way. I’m excited about writing the last few chapters of this shit-storm and closing the book forever.
